Identify Your Fear
Wow! This is a loaded statement.
Identifying your fear isn’t simply eradicating it, it’s overcoming them through your strengths.
We’ve heard it many times in our business, a client favors one side of their face over the other. We understand! Sometimes though, the toughest critic is ourself. What we see as a masterpiece, they see as a shortcoming.
All we would simply do is, have them apply that same confidence to the new pose. Mentally, they have overcome the fear of their weak side and applied their strength. The same goes for you.
We’re sure you’ve heard the saying, “Knowing is half the battle.” Use that saying and apply it when identifying your fear. If you can identify that weak point, all you have to do is apply your strength.
Let’s say you’re awful at giving speeches and have this phobia of speaking to medium/large groups. It’s your siblings big wedding day and you’re asked to give a heartfelt speech to the new bride and groom. Are you going to buckle and say no?? Well, if you haven’t found your strength for your speech, you may. Instead, you’ve rehearsed your speech 100 times and you’re ready to go. But wait, you’re standing up front at the reception with 500 eyes on you. You’re nervous, don’t want to make a mistake and your heart is beating a mile a minute. All of the sudden, you close your eyes. Thinking you’ve lost this battle of fear, you take a deep breath and open your eyes. The next thing you see is the two people that mean so much to you. You block out the noise and tunnel vision on the bride and groom. You come to realize, your speech isn’t for the guests, it’s an intimate conversation with your loved ones. You gain your composure and finish your speech with the clapping of the guests following suit. You just did something you didn’t think you could do, you OVERCAME.
The same applies to anything in life and in your case, planning a wedding. So the 3 main points to concentrate on are
Identify and know your fear
Utilize your strengths against your fear
Overcome the fear
Only you know what your strength is, everyone is different. The only fear that is the same is, WE ALL HAVE A FEAR.
